Naughty apples: gravity in space
Why do objects on Earth go downwards? Is there gravity in space? Why do objects on board the Space Station float? Let's play with gravity to find out with this project.

Starting from experiments on gravity and the motion of objects on Earth, we study the components that describe Newton's law that explains the force of gravity. By applying our new knowledge to the conditions found inside the Space Station, we understand why the apples brought on board by astronauts float in mid-air.
This project is designed for the final classes of primary school and for lower secondary school (recommended age: 9-12 years). It can be carried out over 5-6 sessions of 1-2 hours each.
